A Cook County Sheriff's spokesman says the office has been given approval by prosecutors to search the apartment complex where serial killer John Wayne Gacy's mother once lived to determine if he buried any bodies there.

Frank Bilecki, a spokesman for Sheriff Tom Dart, says that Cook County State's Attorney Anita Alvarez's office approved the request for a search warrant late Friday afternoon
