Carl Eugene Manis, who was convicted of sexually assaulting two girls, 8 and 6, will be at least 77 years old before he can be released from prison following sentencing on Friday.
Shawnee County District Court Chief Judge Nancy Parrish sentenced Manis to life in prison with parole eligibility after 25 years. Manis will be credited with nearly 14 months of incarceration since he was arrested in September 2011.
