Dear Newsviners,

First of all I can't tell you how much your thoughts, vibes,

well wishes and prayers for my brother and myself have

meant to me. It's helped to know that their are people

out there that really care, even though you have never actually even met

these wonderful people. I thank you from the bottom

of my heart! It truly touched me to know that there

were people out there willing to reach out to me  in a time

of trouble.

The update on my brother:

The spot on his lung turned out to be a blood

clot. He is now on  blood thinner. Today the Dr's did a minimally invasive

procedure of putting a "Filter" up through his groin up to his chest

It only took 30 minutes, and just numbed the area. No

stitches, just a Band Aid.

I talked to him today after the procedure, and he sounded so

much stronger! He is well on the road to recovery, and

might be able to go home Monday.

So from my brother and myself,

THANK YOU!!!!

Bindi Beaumont

Ouch! But a band aid - talk about minimally invasive! I'm so glad to hear that a clot was all it was - not that it isn't serious! Regards to your brother and I'm so glad to hear that it wasn't the worst!

That is awesome news Tzia. I'm so glad it wasn't something worse. My husband has a blood clot running up the length of his right leg and had that same procedure. The clot was removed from his thigh but is still in his calf. He is on blood thinner too but leads a perfectly normal life. I'm so happy for you and your brother.

Thanks Savick! It's a frightening thing for sure. I can't believe how simple the procedure was!!

My brother will need to be on blood thinners for roughly 6 months, and really watchhis diet. He follows a very healthy diet, but now he will have to watch how much greens he eats which will be kind of difficult to get used to, but he will do it!

Yea, my husband was happy he had an excuse not to eat broccoli and spinach. I think it has something to do with getting too much vitamin K or something like that. They will probaby check his blood every month or so to make sure he is not getting too much (or too little) of the thinner.

That'a good, Tzia. Do they know where that clot came from? A previous injury?

Nothing like that was mentioned as far as I know. But it's very possible, he's an ex-police officer
